Hi,
Any chance anyone could let me know what all the chat was about with this weekends race at Imola? My French is about as good as my knowledge on Qantum physics ( rubbish ) so I could not figure out what the post's were saying on the French site! Has JV jacked it t in with the GT racingi needed to know because I booked holiday to go over and watch him race in September.

Hello Zach,

So far what we know is that the team decided not to race because one of the sponsors did not pay his bill and they did not have enough money.

This is pretty bad, but we do not know at this point if it will have any impact on JV's position towards the rest of the deal.

There is a rumour that he would be looking for a drive in the nascar truck series for the mosport event, but that may be old stuff.

Quite frankly, I would not be surprised if he pulled out of this, but I'll let you know if we learn more, on this tread here.

It's very tough to choose the race of my life, because there are two. There's winning the Formula 1 world championship at Jerez in 1997 and the Indy 500 in '95. Even though winning the F1 championship against Michael Schumacher was extreme, and it was an incredible race with so much tension and pressure, the Indy 500 was even better.

At Team Green we called it the 505 instead of the 500 because of the two-lap penalty we had. So much happened in that race, and that made it so special.

Thanks for that bit of info mate! It's a strange situation,but I guess Jacques is used to things like this.
Let's hope we see him race in this series again,I think it is good for his image to be seen around these events and keeps his profile high.

Le Réseau des sports (RDS) annonce mardi que l’ancien champion du monde de Formule 1, Jacques Villeneuve, pourrait bien participer au Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières en août.

RDS, qui jouit de liens privilégiés avec l’actuel directeur général du Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, Dominic Fugère, écrit que la possibilité de voir Villeneuve courir en série NASCAR Canadian Tire est bien réelle.

Villeneuve, qui dispute cette saison le Championnat de France GT à bord d’une Ferrari et qui commente les Grands Prix de F1 pour la chaîne française Canal+, affronterait ainsi les meilleurs de la catégorie, dont Andrew Ranger, Robin Buck, Alexandre Tagliani et Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

« Il (Jacques Villeneuve) est très intéressé à venir et nous sommes très intéressés à aider les commanditaires à monter ce projet », a expliqué Fugère en précisant que le coût de location d’une bonne voiture pour disputer cette épreuve oscille entre 40 000$ et 60 000$.

« Le projet avance et des commanditaires discutent avec Jacques à propos d’une association », a ajouté Fugère à RDS.

Villeneuve a disputé le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières pour la première fois en 1992, au volant d’une monoplace de Formule Atlantique.
