Jacques Villeneuve, during the interview.
Journal reaches with his good friend and former driver Patrick Lemarié. Smear Jacques Villeneuve, Formula 1 world champion in 1997, has a character who is not considered wild and the press.
He denies it. He looks happy with the stage that started three months ago in Andorra, with his second wife, Brazilian, and three children, the youngest of two months. Wait until the start of the World, which will commentator for Canal + France and Sky Italia.
What has led to Andorra?
I know the country in the late eighties. I had friends at school in Switzerland, they were there, and the LORD be Holiday [Holiday Mary Joseph, president of the ACA] I took. In fact, the first license to run was Andorra. He was 17. Canada and Italy did not stop then, so young.
And why did you make the transition now?
always wanted to come to Andorra but when I was in Formula 1 was easier to live in Switzerland. I love the mountains, the snow and the beach, the woman he loves, is nearby. Life here is quiet and safe for your family is amazing.
But in Quebec when it was revealed in December that reside here there was controversy?
Yeah. In the summer I criticized his educational system, which I'm not convinced. Education is very important and my kids have a good school here.
He has always taken the world of motor for nothing, why should it not been dedicated pilot?
skier, maybe. Or should I studied engineering or computer programming. But I've always pulled the engine. Five years and wanted a career as a pilot.
You fulfilled the dream of every athlete, was champion of the world, remember that 1997?
was very important to me. It was the reward for a year, in two years of work. It was the end point. If you did not end with victory this year would not have another chance.
Yes, because after his career went downhill ...
Changes team ... After the title needed further motivation.
He scored that much in Jerez collision with Schumacher? People still remember it?
Yeah. For me it was good (laughs). Michael helped me to win and always say "Thank you, Michael."
Has spoken to him?
Yeah, yeah. When he returned to Mercedes changed some minds and was easier to talk to him. Was more open.
If you tell her to go back to F-1, which team would you choose? Red Bull?
Ferrari. It's an amazing team.
Although he could not win the championship?
Ferrari can win. Alonso fought to the end last year.
What rider is like you?
Jacques Villeneuve there is only one.
What is the best moment?
For me, Alonso. Discuss with Patrick [Lemarié] because he prefers Hamilton.
And Vettel, the reigning champion?
's a good driver, but not completely. If it is the first race makes mistakes. It is like a small child is always crying.
Alonso, however, is very strong mentally.
Yeah, but in the head with Hamilton at McLaren was not his forte. Alonso should have a team working for him. Schumacher alike. And this work.
What is the least favorite of Formula 1?
[Do not think] policy.
They have always said to you that he was a rebel.
Not so. Always a rebel against the established power, whatever. I've had my ideas and sometimes disagreed with power and others do not.
The F-1 was better before or now?
[Rumia] I loved the end of the nineties. But I always think that the past is better because memory remembers only the positive, not the negative.
Jacques Villeneuve, PILOT
A life dedicated to motor
Jacques Villeneuve (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada, 04/09/1971) is the son and nephew of pilots. The death of his father, Gilles, in an accident in 1982 Formula 1 was scored. He followed in the footsteps of his father and in 1997 won the World Cup with Williams. He added 11 career victories in the F-1 teams that completed BAR, Renault, Sauber and BMW Sauber. Later ran different championships. Versatile in 2007 released an album, Private Paradise, with little luck.

F1: Jacques Villeneuve shrugs shoulders at Vettel
By Auto123.com,
Sunday, March 17, 2013
Adapted from GMM
Former world champion turned commentator Jacques Villeneuve is positive that, of last year's two title contenders, Fernando Alonso is the better.
The French Canadian said he has not doubt Spaniard Alonso will be in the championship hunt this year as well.
"Ferrari will probably be better than last year, and Fernando always brings out something even more. He is definitely the best driver," he told AS newspaper.
Told that Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel is arguably the best, because he is the reigning triple world champion, French Canadian Villeneuve shrugged his shoulders as if to say 'so what?'.
"Vettel is nothing like Alonso or Hamilton. He is a product of the team, and it is the team (Red Bull) that is the best."
Asked if he thinks Alonso deserved the 2012 title, Villeneuve answered: "It's obvious isn't it?
"He has two titles but Schumacher should have ten. This is a very complicated sport and there are many factors in play."

He does not like the tires, not good van drivers breeding and can not stand the questions of the journalists: "I have talked so much today that I do not know what to say" when then do that in the F1 paddock Jacques Villeneuve is still a name and one that is worth hearing, softens and responds as in flood. microphone in hand from the steering wheel to the step is short, especially if you raced in F1 and the TV channels are hungry for experts. If this trend takes hold, soon to talk about horse racing take the horses, but jokes aside when there is a thoroughbred like Jacques Villeneuve on the square, best to take it with her eyes closed. Also because the Canadian, in his utterances on Sky Sports F1 has already made it clear how he feels and outspoken : What world is this year? "This is a world of rubber, in the sense that the pilot knows how to handle them and know best use of it, wins. In fact, it is no coincidence that people like Raikkonen or Alonso, who have never been in qualifying phenomena in the race are able to better manage the roofs, while many others who are in qualification phenomena, then disappear from circulation. It seems a bit 'F1 at the end of the 90's, when we had two manufacturers of tires and we had to choose the ones that were good for the race and not for the qualification. Today the old drivers working with the team, for me, are favored. It 'a Formula 1 car that I would like to run even if I do another hour. " Nostalgia or want to get in the car you are sometimes? "In the first 20 seconds of commentary, then I go and I enjoy doing what I'm doing I discovered new things in this work, as long as they leave me free to talk and comment on what I want, I do it, otherwise give up. "
" I like the ones that work the old style as Raikkonen and Alonso, know how to manage the tires and are perfect for this F.1 "
In two games you've already pointed out in the paddock ...
"If that's why I can not go to lunch in a motor home or in a couple of teams, if they are marked on the finger, but that's okay. " We often see the Williams ... "The food is good, strange to tell the truth, but they have improved hospitality, in my day was a mess, but have worsened the machines, I do not know what is best ...". Among the drivers of today who impresses you? "I like the ones that work the old style as Raikkonen and Alonso, are not phenomena in qualifying, but know how to handle the tires are perfect for this F.1, is people who can administer, has a vision of full race."
This is a world of rubber, in the sense that the pilot who knows how to handle them and know best use of it, wins
Of young people think?
"I think evil, seem to many children who want to play the F1 and his mother gives him the money to do it, but do not let kids go bad. They are all flat, lacking personality. Unless Jules Bianchi, who has more than the others in this respect. " But there's good people around, guys who are committed ... "But never mind, when I think of Red Bull which has a chain of drivers and use them as pawns to change, I have to laugh. F1 is not this, something needs to be changed. " In your private life, however, have gotten quite a successful family, the third child and a full time dad ... "Oh yes, it's the best thing that could have happened, I'm happy and I did not think have many children was so nice, I like it and I enjoy doing dad, fix them, to also change diapers if needed. "
" The tires of this I do not like F1. Pirelli forced to do unthinkable things, this is not technical, it is not progress. They have turned back to the radial than 20 years ago with the paintings of steel, but if all goes well for them ... "
Since your father was the great Gilles and Jacques your uncle also raced him in F1, with your three kids in F1 will not make anything, too many people and a few free places!
"No, we're all going to 24 Hours of Le Mans, so we all run together and we'll have a world, but now they are too small and I have to give me something to do. " Something that you do not like this F.1? "tires, Pirelli forced to make unthinkable things just for show, this is not technical, it is not progress. They have turned back to the radial than 20 years ago with the paintings of steel, but if it's okay to them ... ".

Villeneuve compares 'Multi-21' affair with death of father
Jacques Villeneuve compared the Sepang saga with 1982, when Didier Pironi similarly ignored a 'do not pass' agreement to beat his father, Gilles Villeneuve.
Mar.29 (GMM) 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve is not sure Sebastian Vettel's apologies should be so readily accepted.
Vettel repeatedly said sorry to Mark Webber after Sunday's Malaysian grand prix, where he passed the Australian for victory against Red Bull's orders.
And he apologised to the Milton-Keynes based team's entire staff on Thursday, team boss Christian Horner revealed.
"He recognises the team is vitally important and being part of the team is a crucial aspect to being able to challenge for the championships," said Horner.
Jacques Villeneuve,
But outspoken Villeneuve, now a television pundit, told Germany's Auto Bild: "It's easy to make excuses.
"In the end he's got the win and the points. Mark has nothing. It was a deliberate decision by Vettel."
French Canadian Villeneuve said it is obvious the 25-year-old triple world champion did the wrong thing.
"The team give you the contract and pay you money and so you do what they want you to do. It's very simple," he said.
Villeneuve compared the Sepang saga with 1982, when Didier Pironi similarly ignored a 'do not pass' agreement to beat his father, Gilles Villeneuve, to the chequered flag at Imola.
"Ignoring is just plain wrong," said Villeneuve. "The best example is my father and Didier Pironi. Just look at the problems that caused."
Indeed, Villeneuve snr was so enraged by Pironi's actions that many believe it contributed to his crash and death at Zolder shortly afterwards.
Whatever the case, the general consensus in the paddock is that the affair has terminally damaged the teammates' relationship at Red Bull.
"They will simply have to try to survive the rest of the season somehow," former driver Mika Salo told Finland's MTV3 broadcaster.
"For next season, they (Red Bull) will probably look for another driver to put in Webber's place."

Re: Jacques Villeneuve commentary television pundit
I don't want to say against JV's opinion, but personnally, if this affair is well managed by Horner, I think it may improve the strength of the Red Bull team and the relation between Vettel and Webber.
The way to do it would be for Vettel to give Webber a win in the next races...
If Vettel does this, it can be the best publicity shot in the recent history of F1...

Speedmetal, I don't think Vettel handing Webber a win will help at all. It's too late. the damage is done.

It depends if Webber is a resentful type of person... But even then, as a member of a team, his first priority should be the team spirit...

I see Webber as a bit of a vindicative person. If he gets a chance, Vettel will get it where the sun don't shine.

Villeneuve thinks Raikkonen could win title:
Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 world champion turned TV pundit, thinks Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen would be a good bet for this year's championship.
"I said before Australia that it would be Alonso and Hamilton for the title, now I think I would bet everything on the Spaniard and the Finn," he is quoted by France's Auto Hebdo.
The Enstone based team, however, had a much less impressive weekend in Malaysia, just a few days after Raikkonen's Melbourne win.
"It's true, we didn't have a good race at Sepang," technical boss James Allison is quoted by Speed Week.
"But the damage was done in the first few laps, when we fell half a minute behind, but Romain (Grosjean) was only 35 seconds behind Vettel at the end.
"Sepang didn't show what our car can really do," he added.
However, Grosjean and Raikkonen have both spoken about how good the black E21 is, whilst expressing fears Lotus might not be able to keep up with the development pace of the better funded top teams.
Allison insists: "The most expensive thing is bringing the car to the track, not developing it.
"We've also noticed that it is relatively easy for us to find promising developments in the wind tunnel. And we have lots of ideas about how to develop mechanically."
Team boss Eric Boullier told Brazil's Totalrace: "I think Romain has all the same upgrades as Kimi for China.
"We have parts arriving for every race and will keep working hard. It will be interesting."

Re: Jacques Villeneuve commentary television pundit
2013 could be Alonso's year - Villeneuve:
Felipe Massa could be a key to a successful championship tilt by Fernando Alonso this year.
That is the view of 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, who said in Milan this week that he thinks Spaniard Alonso was "tired" at the end of a hard-fought campaign with a less competitive Ferrari last season.
"This could be Ferrari's year," the French Canadian told the Italian media.
"The car is fast, although maybe it's a bit difficult to drive.
"Perhaps he will also have the support of Massa this year," he added.
The Maranello based team has produced a much better car for 2013, although currently the Ferraris are behind the Red Bulls and even Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton in the drivers' points standings.
Referring to Alonso's first-lap contact in Malaysia and the decision to stay out on track rather than pit for a new nose, Villeneuve said: "Ferrari has already done its big mistake for the year."
