I'm on vacation. Went to Maranello yesterday to the Ferrari museum and bus tour of factory.

They had a nice tribute to Gilles for his 30 year anniversary of his accident. They had a whole room about him and good videos.

They had his Ferrari road car. He still has the record of driving from Monte Carlo to Maranello in 2 hours 25 minutes.

GV won a race with an airplane. He ordered the wings removed from his car before the race. GV went faster than the plane.

MS tried the same thing years later but the plane won. MS didn't have his wings removed.

We're in Tuscany now and will be driving down to southern Italy.

Nice to see this forum up and running.

I've been lurking for some time too see if JV would end up in Nationwide, I still can't believe Penske would not give him a full time ride... Frigging politics... the last Canadian full time in Nascar was Carpentier 40 races and his best season finish was a 38th place. I think the Americans don't want foreign drivers unless you have a team that wants you. Just imagine if the Player's sponsor did not exist in the 90's JV would of never of raced in IndyCar or F1. Too bad we don't have another Canadian sponsors to help Canadian drivers. I'm sure other drivers like Ranger, Fitzpatrick and etc... would like to make the jump to nationwide and it's not the lack of talent but I believe it's because they are not American. It sucks. Evil or Very Mad

But I still believe one day Jacques will get a full time ride... Maybe the only option for a full time ride is to start your own team and start from scratch. That way you don't have to deal with the politics of the team since you are you're own boss... Twisted Evil

#GP3R invite mentions #NASCAR Nationwide racers JF Dumoulin, Andrew Ranger and Jacques Villeneuve will be at presser. Sounds promising!

Speculating GP3R may get Nationwide race. JV supposed to be at press conference.

I wouldn't get too excited. All they annouced is that they are going to Texas to meet with Nascar officials to try to get a Nationwide race next year. Its far from a done deal.
